Anyone know how long Prompt 4 will be offline? Or the status of P5 (most images are blurred)?

The main CTIO technician that we work with, Gale, gets back from vacation tomorrow. He should be able to fix both P3 & P4’s domes then.
When you say blurred, do you just mean out of focus, or does it look like poor tracking?

I wasn’t sure of the cause though the images don’t appear to be trailed more in any one direction as they might from wind or poor tracking. Every image I’ve ever taken with P5 was blurred so I gave up on it some weeks ago. One night I took images on both P4 & P5 of the same object at the same time, and I suppose I could dig those up for you to look at if it would help.

We think this is a mount issue, and we are working on it. Short exposures seem to do pretty well, but all long exposures have some problems. If you could, please let me know the shortest exposure you have seen blurring on. Thanks.
